It will come as a surprise to literally no one that Eleanor and I have both done a pretty solid amount of reading since school has been closed indefinitely. (I still can't manage to get myself to write reviews, but that is a whole different issue.)
Here Eleanor and I are going to share the books we have read together in March. She is a first grader but has long loved chapter books, starting with the Rainbow Magic fairies, and Magic Tree House adventures; this was before Kindergarten even started! Eleanor was born a reader and that makes my heart so, so happy.
Do the kiddos in your life have an interest in any of these? We are especially loving the Nancy Clancy series right now, because Eleanor loved Fancy Nancy so much when they were both Kindgarteners. Now Nancy and Bree are third graders, just as entertaining as before!
I also love that Eleanor loves the Who Is/Where Is/What Is series. Getting kids interested in non-fiction EARLY is crucial so it doesn't seem like 'boring facts and dates' later on.
Happy Reading,
Eleanor and Sarah

I'm *so* jealous of kids these days with all their great books! Nothing like that back in *my* day [lol]
ReplyDeleteI am pretty jealous too, and I had lots of great books to read!

ReplyDeleteI had to look the series up and it looks super cute. I might have to see if I can find a couple for Eleanor!
DeleteWhen we were kids, we loved Good Old Archibald by Ethelyn Parkinson. I bet Eleanor would love this! And if you can find Agaton Sax and the Diamond Thieves, by Nils-Olof Franzén, you will be glad you did. I wish we had Fancy Nancy books, we would have loved her!

Fancy Nancy is THE BEST! I wish there were more than 8 books in the 3rd grade series. I found both books that you mentioned on Amazon and may have to pick them up, they look like books Eleanor would enjoy, thank you!
DeleteGreat list, Eleanor. You rock as a reader!
ReplyDeleteEleanor says thank you :)
