Each month Eleanor and I share the chapter books we've read in that period. We've been reading chapter books since before Kindergarten and her attention span as a four year old was definitely something to brag about. Eleanor was born a reader and that makes my heart so, so happy.
I am making a couple changes because Eleanor is becoming a more independent reader at home. She has no problem plowing through books at school, but at home she prefers I read to her while she is drawing, painting, working on a science project, etc. Plus, who doesn't also love being read to at bedtime?

Loving some of that artwork...! [grin] With books like this 50+ years ago I would have become a book addict years before I actually did.
ReplyDeleteShe has so many great books to choose from, I am also kind of jealous. She has discovered a deep love for graphic novels, especially the I Survived ones.
DeleteI'm guessing she got braces recently - hence the Smile book?
DeleteActually no, though we do want to get them (her dad is refusing, it's a whole big thing), because she has a super small mouth and there is not physically enough room for all her teeth to grow in, and she has already had two teeth pulled and it was AWFUL...but that is a whole different story. She does want to get braces, she hates to smile and is so self-conscious and it breaks my heart for her, because her smile is beautiful! That book is the the first in a three-series set. She is really loving graphic novels lately, so she is soaking up as many as she can!
