Tackling the TBR Week 10 | Mar 8 - Mar 14, 2023

Here we go!

This is year FIVE of Tackling the TBR and I finally have things sort-of under control. My ultimate goal is to get under 500 books, but I also have to be realistic - just think of all the books not even written yet that I will want to read. When I started this mess  I was at well over 5,000 books on the TBR, so to be where I am now is pretty incredible.

I will post on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month.

  1. I think you're definitely in that 'New York' state of mind.... [grin]

    1. Very much so! It's my most favorite city that I have never been to.

  2. Iron Empires! TRAINS!

I've read the book "Taxi!. I'd say it's interesting, but I've read multiple books on taxis, so take my enthusiaism with a grain of salt. As I remember it covers both the economic history and cultural portrayal of cabbies.

    1. AND ROBBER BARONS! We like weird micro-histories so I imagine if you found it of value, then so will I!

    2. Well, if you get into a weird taxi mood after reading that, try "Hack" and "Mean Streets". One is by a college student who decided to drop out and drive a taxi, and the other is a memoir from a Canadian cabbie in Toronto. :)

  3. Seriously? You are "currently reading" thirty books? To each his/her own reading habits, I guess.

    1. I mean, I AM a horrendous mood reader, so I pick up and drop books all the time. They're in various stages; some I have been reading for three months, which means I have not opened them in three months. Others I just added today from my library hall, so I will be reading them this whole week, since I am on Spring Break, but Eleanor is in a different school district so she is at school and I am bored to tears just waiting to pick her up from school.

  4. Liars Inc... hm. I was reading Paula stokes a few years back... and Zoe Spanos I've always loved the cover. I should get it just for that.

    1. They are all in various stages of 'currently reading'. A lot of times I put books in that section as soon as I get them from the library. But I am also a major mood reader, so some of these I started three months ago and haven't touched them since then.
