Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

Mall visit this week, so (probably) the last significant book purchase of the month. As usual I think there's a *few* you'll like....
ReplyDeleteFiction:
Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon
Medea by Rosie Hewlett
Non-Fiction:
Borderlines - A History of Europe in 29 Borders by Lewis Baston
A History of the World in 47 Borders by Jonn Elledge
Hunt for The Shadow Wolf - The Lost History of Wolves and The Myths and Stories that Surround Them by Derek Gow
A History of the World in Twelve Shipwrecks by David Gibbins
Victory to Defeat - The British Army 1918-40 by Richard Dannatt & Robert Lyman
Neu Klang - The Definitive History of Krautrock by Christoph Dallach
The Wolf Age - The Vikings, the Anglo-Saxons and the Battle for the North Sea Empire by Tore Skeie
A Cold Spell - A Human History of Ice by Max Leonard
Some good choices! I've read the Elledge book and am still reading the Gibbins one that I got from netGalley ages ago as an ARC. I want The Wolf Age (which my library has), and A Cold Spell and Borderlines (which my library doesn't). Great picks and not as bad as I thought it would be, lol.
DeleteI'm 'planning' on daisy-chaining the borders books along with a few more history types. I think I've got a chain of 6 so far. It's ONE way of deciding what to read next!
DeleteI do that, but not on purpose. Like, a couple months ago all I wanted to read about was the Holocaust so I requested a bunch from the library. Then a month after that I went on a true crime binge and requested a bunch of those. Now I am kind of all over the place. It's why my 'Currently Reading' shelf on Goodreads says 108 books, lol
DeleteYou are always reading so many titles that I, too, hope to get to. I've only read one Alex Finlay, and it was quite a disappointment. I'll be eager to see if you think I should revisit his writing.
ReplyDeleteWhich Finlay book have you read? So far I've read If Something Happens to Me (5 stars) and Night Shift (4 stars).
DeleteHappy Stacking the Shelves! It sounds like a great way to see what everyone's been adding to their reading piles. I hope you found some exciting new books this week!
ReplyDeleteYes! It's a lot of fun and one of the posts I most look forward to every week!
