Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

    1. It was not terrible, but not the best thriller I have read recently. Kind of disjointed, but not in a great unreliable narrator kind of way. I am pretty meh about it.

  2. Just 5 (mostly non-fiction) for me this week with one in the post - that'll probably be the last book of the year.

    Fiction:

The Manningtree Witches by A K Blakemore

    Non-Fiction:

Auntie's War - The BBC During the Second World War by Edward Stourton
The Unwomanly Face of War by Svetlana Alexievich
Evil Geniuses - How Big Money Took Over America by Kurt Andersen
The First Kingdom - Britain in the Age of Arthur by Max Adams

    1. I have one of Adams' books right now, Ælfred’s Britain: War and Peace in the Viking Age. The boring old US cover and title call it The Viking Wars though. It is so annoying how the UK always gets the best covers and the US ones are mostly garbage. And that's exactly why I peruse Amazon UK often.

    2. Title changes confuse me a LOT. Why do they do it? I'm going to match First Kingdom with Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell, because - why not, right?

    3. Yes!! I wish it was one cover/title, but I get it because they are put out by two different publishers, but I still think it is silly. And I tend to like the UK covers and titles better anyway - probably because I tend to like the UK better than the US, in general, lol. But then it is twice as many books to buy, because you KNOW I own two copies of every Dan Jones book.

    1. Believe me, I am counting down the days until Christmas break...so many reviews, you won't even know what to do! lol...or I could just end up in a food coma on my mom's couch. At this point, it's a toss-up.

    1. it really does. The whole series has that vibe. And the book was fantastic! The rest of the series was good, but The Butterfly Garden was my fave.
