Tackling the TBR Week 43: Nov 15 - Nov 21, 2021

I am now in year three of Tackling the TBR. Slowly but surely I have made big strides in getting by TBR under control. When I first started in 2019, my TBR was topping out at over 5,000 books. I don't know that I will ever get below 500, but a #BookDragon can dream!

I will be posting on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and the last day of the month. Feel free to join in if you'd like!

  1. I see Local Girl Missing pop up here and there. Hope you liked the Lapenas. I'm trying to remember which of those I liked better. Probably An Unwanted Guest. I think I had a few issues with Someone but it's been a while...

Curious how Vikings will turn out.

    1. I really like Lapena's books and am excited for her latest. Hopefully I will have it by the weekend. Local Girl Missing was a decent read, though not my favorite. But by far, not the worst thriller I have read. It does, however, stretch the 'unreliable marrator' thing a bit thin for my taste.

    2. I should just read all the Lapena's. She's like Lisa Jewell for me- I loved Girls in the Garden and started reading everything by Jewell and while they were good, none were as good as that one. Similar to McManus haha although I find I'm strangely fond of The Cousins- I think I like that one more than a lot of people did. But back to Lapena- I really liked Guest the more I think about it and that was the first one I read. I need to read the rest of hers I suppose...

    3. Not a Happy Family has just come in for me at the library, so I will be getting it tomorrow and will have read all of her work then. I didn't hate The Cousins, I liked it and was not expecting the twist involving their grandma. You'll Be the Death of Me, on the other hand...we need to discuss ASAP.

Do you think I would like Lisa Jewell?
