Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc. Never has my addiction been more obvious than when I am now keeping track of every single book I acquire.
What did you add to your stash this week?
I'm not really adding anything to my TBR at the moment, just the odd book in my favourite series or by a favourite author. I'm ok with that!ReplyDelete
Oh man, then you are doing much better than me! But I am not going to the library for a while so that should curb the need to add books to the TBR. The New Releases sections have just been amazing these last few weeks, I can't not look!Delete
Great set of books you got here, especially the Beyonce book! Hope you enjoy them all!ReplyDelete
Here’s my Stacking the Shelves!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
Thank you Ronyell! I have finished a couple already and not been disappointed so far. Happy Reading!Delete
Impressively varied stack as always! The Resistance & Fifth Risk books are on my 'interest' list. The 1968 book is now on it too! Still no Trump books here but the new Andrew McCabe book looks VERY interesting!!!ReplyDelete
Only 4 novels this week:
The Old Religion by Martyn Waites
Ruin Beach by Kate Rhodes
Kill For Me by Tom Wood
The Woman in the Woods by John Connolly
Not too bad at all, your four compared to my...I don't even want to say how many! I am also highly interested in getting McCabe's book - did you get to see any of his interview? I only saw clips but it all looks like it pretty much confirms from the inside what we know is going on.Delete
Expecting a few more next week. Off to the multiplex next week to see the 40th anniversary of 'Alien' with some of the guys. I'll hit the Mall just before.Delete
Yup, watched 2 full interviews with McCabe - on with Ari Melber and the other with Nicole Wallace. Both were very interesting.
I love when movies come back to the theatre that have been out for a long time. Titanic and Jurassic Park are my most faves that have come back - I could have done without the 3D though.Delete
Interesting indeed. I just can't wait for this nightmare to be over. I don't even care if he and his family go to jail, I just want them out of the White House and sanity to return. It's fully exhausting.
A tantalizing selection of books from your library! No new books in this week. What? How did that happen? I finished reading 3 and ordered one used book: The Years of Lyndon B Johnson #4, The Passage of Power.ReplyDelete
Thanks Judy. This past week was a tough one for me, I added so may books to my TBR. I don't think there will be a week where I don't add books, but this week was especially out of control. I am conflicted on my thoughts of LBJ. Awful, as far as humans go, but policy that helped African Americans so greatly.Delete
Will be interested in your take on "Insane", whenever that happens.ReplyDelete
- a collection of western short stories for my father
- "Walkable City Rules: 101 Steps to Making Better Places"
- a Star Trek book in which aliens land on earth in the 1970s and hide out in the ice caps (???)
- Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and More from Each Other
- "The Collected Works of P.G. Wodehouse". This one cost me a dollar.SIX THOUSAND PAGES FOR A DOLLAR!
Six thousand pages for $1, that is quite the bargain!Delete
I am not into Star Trek but I am very interested in why the aliens chose to hide in the ice caps. Are they impervious to cold? Do they need the ice to survive?
'Insane' is quite close to the top of my pile to read next. I know it will make me very sad, but we have got to do better in taking care of people with mental illnesses in this country!
Oh, and I'd forgotten..."A Short History of Life in the Middle Ages", by Martyn Widdock.Delete
Regarding the aliens...I don't know! But the same author, Dayton Ward, previously did a REALLY fun book that integrated odd bits of 20th century history with a Star Trek novel, and this sounds like rather the same thing. I'm looking forward to sticking my head in to figure out what is going on!
As soon as you know the answer, please tell me because I am so intrigued. Perhaps it is because we just had a blizzard yesterday afternoon/evening, and school has been cancelled tomorrow because the roads are still so terrible that no one can get anywhere. Alas, I do love snow, so I am quite pleased any way around it!Delete
Resistance and Insane both sound great. And oh my gosh that Trump book- that title cracked me up! So true lol.ReplyDelete
It was a very good haul! I finished the trump book already. Wilson is still an a-hole, but he is at least one I can marginally respect because he sees what his party should be, and viciously mocks and rips apart those who have hijacked it, and those who let the hijacking happen.Delete
I can't keep an account of my books. If I do my hubby would go insane. LOL, I have a room full of books and they are leaking out to our living room now. =)ReplyDelete
Looks like some good books this week. Enjoy!
Mary Sunday Roundup #59 @ SMBS!
My daughter (age five) and I pretty much have books in every room, and they are constantly leaking into every other room, haha. I did find some really great treasures, thanks for stopping by. Happy Reading!Delete
Thank you! So far they have been adequate, no duds!Delete
