Tackling the TBR Week 11: March 15-March 21, 2019

Each week I will be keeping track of books that I have read from my TBR. I have a huge backlog of books and often end up reading new books that are not even on my list, instead of trying to whittle down the list that continues to balloon up on Goodreads. Chuckles had the idea first, and we are going to use this as a chance to encourage each other to get those books read instead of always grabbing new ones and thus never making a dent in the physical and digital stacks we already have. It will also give us a chance to take a good look at our lists and see if there are ones we are no longer interested in. We will be posting on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and the last day of the month.

Previous Week's TBR Total: 3,668

Books Added to TBR This Week: 6

Books Removed from TBR This Week: 57

Currently Reading: 11

Books Finished This Week: 5

Books DNF-ed This Week: 0

Duplicates Removed: 0

Rereads:
 0

New TBR Total: 3,613

Numbers are off  little bit again this week but I am not even going to waste time on it anymore. Until the list becomes a bit more manageable I will continue to use Goodreads number listed for my to-read shelf. I would rather err on the side of caution and overestimate how many I have left.

Is your TBR under control, or a hot mess like mine?

  1. 5 books - wow! And 57 removed? That's pretty kick ass!

    1. Thanks Greg, I am working pretty hard an trying to be as realistic as possible about books I know deep down, I won't ever read.

  2. I finished three books in this time period. I think I added some titles of new books coming soon I want to read. I am reminding myself that reading is my super power. I read some hard books this month!

    1. That's great! it does get discouraging sometimes when you don't think you have made progress, but there are definitely books worth reading that make you read more slowly than normal.

  3. I think I can say that I have removed everything I can from the book shelves that I no longer want to read! My next plan is to note down a list of the books with mixed reviews and work off that list and hope for DNFs! Well done on another good week! My progress has slowed to a crawl with no real reading this week.

    1. That's great! Are there physical copies you have that you have decided not to read, or are you just removing things from your TBR? Or both? I have really found a lot of success with setting my To-Read shelf to random, I have cleared out so many books that way that I added way back in 2013 and 2014 that I don't even remember at this point. I am no where close yet to being done with that, but I have removed a lot! We are so rocking this.
