Stacking the Shelves #52

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc. Never has my addiction been more obvious than when I am now keeping track of every single book I acquire.

What did you add to your stash this week?

Happy Reading!

  1. Ooh, dinosaurs, anti-fb, and cities. I bought "What Einstein Told His Cook" when Bookbubs cued me in on it being on sale.

    1. I have seen that Einstein series before, but never added it to my list. How do you like it?

  2. I detect a *bit* of a dinosaur theme there.... [lol] 'How to Build a Dinosaur' looks interesting. I'll have to check that out!

A reasonable 3 for me this week:

    Non-Fiction:

To Engineer is Human - The Role of Failure in Successful Design by Henry Petroski

    Fiction:

    Vox by Christina Dalcher
    Secret Service by Tom Bradby

    1. Just a little! I went on a binge after hearing Dr Lindsay Zanno speak at the Durham after Eleanor's camp last week. I meant to post about it but have not gotten around to it yet. This has been a much lazier summer than I anticipated!

Three is practically a miracle! I am at four right now, and should stay that way, unless one of my holds at the library becomes available.

  3. Dinosaurs *rawrr* always amazing to read about. Dragon Teeth looks good. And ooh The Bible in World History- I love the intersection of those two topics!

    1. I am OBSESSED with the Bible and history. My pastor has been really amazing about finding me sources that corroborate biblical events - there's a great one from China that discusses events observed from the crucifixion, and it amazes me.

Dragon Teeth was soooooo good, I absolutely loved it.

  4. Ooh dinosaurs! I'd love a huge shelf of big dinosaur books but I just don't have the space!

    1. I have read some great ones this week, and a while back I won The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs in a Goodreads giveaway. I am as obsessed with dinosaurs now as I was when I was a kid

  5. I only added one book to my shelves last week: another spy book from the library. But then I ordered two books and THEN I bought two books after my reading group meeting at B&N last night. So my report next week will be robust!!

    1. Well if it helps, you don't have to count the book until it is physically in your hands, so would that help your numbers a little bit??
