Backs from the Backlog #19

Books from the Backlog, hosted by Carole's Random Life in Books, is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your shelf unread.

I am featuring books in the order that they were added to my Goodreads To-Read shelf, so sometimes there will be a couple weeks in a row of books on the same topic.

Why did I add The Gifts of Jimmy V to my TBR?

Because:

Because Jimmy V taught us about all the things greater than basketball, all the lessons we must learn and must pass on to the next generation. Because he died too soon. Because his legacy is about more than just college hoops.

Have you read this book, or is it somewhere on your TBR? If you've read it, would you recommend it to others?

Happy Reading!
Sarah

  1. I don't think that I have read any books about a sports figure. This does sound like it could be a great read. Enjoy, Sarah!

    1. I hope it is. If you have not watched the video, please do. I cry every time. Jimmy V passed away about two months after the speech.

  2. I have not read that book. A neglected book that I fully intended to read in 2019 is A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth. But it is 1474 pp and I would have to have quite a span of reading time to get it done. I usually dedicate the last week of any year to reading several books by one author. So perhaps I will get to this one at that time this year.
