Stacking the Shelves #70

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

    1. Thank you Dorothy. I have a wide variety of interests, and sometimes I just wander the stacks and end up bring 5-10 more home than I intended!

    1. I raced through The Library Book. It is wonderful. It is as much a love letter to libraries as it is a book about the suppose crime. Well done, i think you'll like it.

  3. I didn't add anything this week. Well, I did get Gone Girl in the mail, from a giveaway, so there is that. I love messed up thrillers! Anyway the Nancy Drew looks good, and Tombstone is probably fascinating- I love that movie so much, whether it's accurate or not.

    1. I love the movie too, it is one of my most favorites. I went through a phase where I was obsessed with Val Kilmer and I probably watched it a zillion times. Plus, cowboys and the Old West, so, win-win.

  4. I have read The Day the World Came to Town. It is good! Just read The Library Book. You are going to love that one I bet. I added The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See, lent to me by a reading group friend and You Can See More From Up Here by Mark Guerin, from my Nervous Breakdown Book Club subscription. I had not heard of the novel but it looks quite good.

    1. I've just finished both of those books and I loved them both!! I liked The Library Book better, but I enjoyed The Day the World Came to Town because everything I have ever read about 9/11 is from here, within the US. Plus, we all lived it. I found the perspectives of those outside the US, and especially those from other countries, especially interesting.

    1. Tombstone was one of my fave movies as a kid, and I used to love Val Kilmer. Luckily as an adult I have started reading the true stories about that time and place, and I was so psyched to see this one on NetGalley. I have not started it yet, but I do hope your hubby enjoys it!
