Stacking the Shelves #198

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

Happy Reading!

  1. Is that two or three because of me? Nothing from me this week - as predicted..... LOL - only kidding. It was Four, picked up before a Multiplex trip to see the new Buzz Lightyear film. Nothing to worry you though. Mostly fiction and one on Economics...

    Non-Fiction:

Two Hundred Years of Muddling Through - The Surprising Story of Britain's Economy from Boom to Bust and Back Again by Duncan Weldon

    Fiction:

    Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
    Burmese Days by George Orwell
The Birds and Other Stories by Daphne Du Maurier

Definitely none next week though.... Probably definitely anyway....... Probably.

    1. Ha, YES!! Nazi Billionaires, Hunting Ground, Borderland and Thebes all came from you. Dark Queens also, I think.

    2. Happy to claim 'Borderlands' and 'Thebes'. The others are down to YOU I think... [lol]

    3. Really?? They were in my Notes on my phone, in the section dedicated to the sub-TBR I made specifically for books from you! I really thought for sure the Nazi Billionaires was fro you for sure. Now I don't know where it came from. Either way, Dark Queens is really good so far and you'll probably like it. I'd never heard of these two queens before, but they lived 1500 years ago, so I should not be so surprised.

    4. Nope. No Nazi billionaires here..... 'Dark Queens' is already on my Amazon Wish List. I think I added it when you mentioned it a while back... Probably...

    5. At this point...who knows. We've been chatting books for how many years now? Four? More? My blog turned eight in February

  2. I'll try this comment again. Looks like you've got some pretty heavy reading there. Looks like you prefer nonfiction? Any particular focus or just whatever catches your attention? I don't know many nonfiction readers and my forays into the genre are with mixed success. Hope you have a happy reading week!

    1. Non-fiction is definitely my preferred reading. I am pretty selective about fiction, I hardly read it at all. It started with Tudor and Plantagenet history but that has expanded massively to include many different topics. I really love Anglo-Saxon England, and Roman Britain too; the UK and Ireland will always be my first loves.

    1. It was an interesting perspective, but also very...I'm not sure how to describe it, actually. I did not connect with the author at all.
