Stacking the Shelves #239

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

    1. Happy Reading! I have read Kara Thomas' other books, which are YA. I hope I like this one as much as those!

  2. Well, you knew it was coming so I'll cut right to the chase, or to the haul.... the HUGE haul..... [lol] The trip to my Indie bookshop went pretty well, except for that ONE I'd already bought previously - ironically from the very same shop. The good news is that I *think* you'll only really be interested in 4 of the non-fiction. Ready? DEEP breath!

    Fiction:

Down & Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow
The Last Astronaut by David Wellington
The Half Life of Valery K by Natasha Pulley
Born of the Sun - Adventures in our Solar System edited by Mike Ashley
Something More Than Night by Kim Newman

    Non-Fiction:

Super-Infinite - The Transformations of John Donne by Katherine Rundell
Bitch - What Does it Mean to be Female? by Lucy Cooke
Rebel Writers - The Accidental Feminists by Celia Brayfield
Skin Deep - Dispelling the Science of Race by Gavin Evans
A Brief History of Misogyny - The World's Oldest Prejudice by Jack Holland
Soft Power - The New Great Game by Robert Winder
Last Trains - Dr Beeching and the Death of Rural England by Charles Loft
Arnhem - Ten Days in the Cauldron, The Account of the Fateful Bridge Too far by Iain Ballantyne
The Longest Campaign - Britain's Maritime Struggle in the Atlantic and Northwest Europe, 1939-1945 by Brian E Walter
Sealand - The True Story of the World's Most Stubborn Micronation by Dylan Taylor-Lehman

    1. Uuuuggggghhhh. When I saw your name, I didn't even read the post until I read everyone else's first because I knew it would take me a while to process, lol.

So here's what I am definitely adding to my CK-Sub-TBR:
Bitch, Rebel Writers, Skin Deep, A Brief History of Misogyny

Are those the four you thought I would choose??

    3. Wow, it's like you know exactly what I want to read, because we've been book buddies for YEARS! lol

And really, when I first saw the list I was anticipating there being way more than four. Thanks for not completely ruining my life!
