It was an interesting little read. Not my most favorite of the year but kept my attention for a few hours. I probably won't read the next one though.
DeleteNice assortment of books. I hope you enjoy them all. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy, thanks for coming by!
DeleteYeah, you got 'Paper Ghosts'. Hope you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteA reasonably bumper crop (for me, not you!) this week with 7. But I think you should be safe....
Fiction:
Murder on the Caronia by Edward Marston
Metropole by Ferenc Karinthy
Non-Fiction:
Devil Dogs: First In, Last Out - King Company from Guadalcanal to the Shores of Japan by Saul David
Colditz - Prisoners of the Castle by Ben Macintyre
Russia - Revolution and Civil War 1917-1921 by Antony Beevor
Tanks in the Great War 1914-18: The Development of Armoured Vehicles and Warfare by J F C Fuller
The Battle for North Africa - The Epic Second World War Struggle in the Desert by John Strawson
Hooray! I don't care about any of these books, lol :P
DeleteDidn't think you would. Too 'fighty' & stuff. I'll see what I can do *next* time... [lol] I've just 'discovered' a publishers website with LOTS of interesting contemporary accounts of world events over the last few centuries. So, be afraid, be very afraid..... [grin]
DeleteUep, you know military history bores me. Please continue to only read that for a while!
DeleteBut also, whatever you find on that publisher's website...I will be ready!
This one is HIGH on my interest list:
DeleteLady Sale's Afghanistan: An Indomitable Victorian Lady's Account of the Retreat from Kabul During the First Afghan War.
Oh geez. That could be interesting. Oi.
DeleteI Told You This Would Happen has an awesome cover. I think I would love that one.
