Books From the Backlog #24

Books from the Backlog, hosted by Carole's Random Life in Books, is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your shelf unread.

I am featuring books in the order that they were added to my Goodreads To-Read shelf, so sometimes there will be a couple weeks in a row of books on the same topic.

Why did I add Roanoke: The Abandoned Colony to my TBR?

Because Roanoke is one of the great unsolved mysteries that is destined to remain unsolved for all time. We may have an idea about what really happened, but we will never know for sure.

Have you read this book, or is it somewhere on your TBR? If you've read it, would you recommend it to others?

Happy Reading!
Sarah

  1. This sounds really interesting. I have not heard of this colony and am quite curious. I hope you enjoy it when you get the chance to read it.

    1. I was so obsessed with Roanoke for the longest time, going back to high school. Good books on the subject are hard to come by, because so little is known about what happened and we can only guess.

    1. I have been obsessed with this story since I was young, maybe middle school starting out. But good books on the subject seems difficult to come by, so I hope this one is better than the last one I DNF-ed.

  3. I have not read that one but I want to tell you that lately my nonfiction reading is dovetailing with my fiction reading in some amazing ways. I am getting ready to read Neuromancer by William Gibson, one of the first cybertech sci fi authors. It has been on my shelf for years and years.

    1. It's so cool when that happens, and provides another layer of understanding and appreciation for the fiction.
