Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc

Happy Reading
Sarah
Right, my Mall trip.... I *think* you might like one, possibly two... DEEP breath I think... [lol]
ReplyDeleteFiction:
The Mammoth Book of Dieselpunk edited by Sean Wallace
Non-Fiction:
Walking the Bones of Britain - A Journey from the Outer Hebrides to the Thames Estuary by Christopher Somerville
An Uneasy Inheritance - My Family and Other Radicals by Polly Toynbee
How To Read a Tree by Tristan Gooley
Women in Intelligence - The Hidden History of Two World Wars by Helen Fry
How to Survive a Crisis - Lessons in Resilience and Avoiding Disaster by David Omand
You're safe! Only one, Walking the Bones of Britain. But Uneasy Inheritance could be interesting, too. I just don't know enough about politics in the UK.
DeleteNot sure how much you'd like 'Bones'. Its about Geology more than anything else... I picked up 'Inheritance' because I've liked Polly Toynbee whenever I've seen her being interviewed. I keep meaning to read more Brit politics... [muses]
DeleteI love geology! But our library does not have it. All I really know is that Boris Johnson is a buffoon. Before I knew of his politics, I had read one of his books and liked it, back in 2014. It was Johnson's Life of London: The People Who Made the City that Made the World.
DeleteOoh, Cities that Shaped the World looks up my street. Hope it's good!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great read, I enjoyed it. Chapters were only a couple pages each, which I appreciated. Kind of bite-size, leaving room for me to explore more cities on my own that I was really captivated by.
DeleteA good looking haul there. I particularly like the look of The Debutantes.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
