Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc. Never has my addiction been more obvious than when I am now keeping track of every single book I acquire.

What did you add to your stash this week?
Happy Reading!

Ooh, Cherynoble. I find pictures of the town nearby (Pripyat?) fascinating -- a little morbid, almost.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I bought One Word Kill, and then preordered its sequel. I also claimed a few history books being discarded, including Friedman's "From Beirut to Jerusalem".
Me too!! If there is a more perfect image to have in one's mind about what it looks like when time freezes, I have yet to find it. The photos of the school is especially haunting, I think.
DeleteGood to see you're concentrating on light reading... [grin]
ReplyDeleteOnly a late Amazon arrival for me:
American Political History - A Very short Introduction by Donald T Critchlow
You know me, can't read anything *too* serious ;)
DeleteI am almost burned out on politics right now. Once I finish the McCabe book I think I will take a break for a bit.
The Borden thing has always freaked me out.
ReplyDeleteSAME! Like, it makes sense that she killed them, and most facts kind of point to that, but then there is this little voice in my head that keeps shouting that she did not do it. I waver back and forth constantly. I really felt like this book laid everything out, and find value even if it is geared toward a younger audience. I really want to stay at the house, it's been a B&B for ages.
DeleteOooh! All of these books sound interesting! Great haul!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Stacking the Shelves!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
Thank you! It was a pretty great one, if I do say so myself!
DeleteWow, these sound like some intense books. The Rasputin one should be interesting. Everything about that story is wild.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
YES!! But the cover creeps me out because his face in the background. And I also think he is gross because that beard is disgusting and I bet he had food crumbs stuck in it all the time. Ew.
DeleteI read and enjoyed the Borden Murders. There are a few interesting looking ones in your haul this week-Chernobyl, No Easy Day, Rasputin and Twelve Days of Terror!
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Twelve Days of Terror, and he makes some really valid points. No Easy Day would have been great, until all the subtle digs at Obama came, toward the end. Have not gotten to the other two yet, but will soon!
DeleteYou read so much great nonfiction :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is my true book-love. I can't imagine ever going back to fiction full-time. It is interesting how our tastes change over the years, isn't it?
DeleteI picked up 8 books at two libraries this week. 7 fiction and 1 non-fiction. I better get reading!
ReplyDeleteYep! Hopefully you have finished them all by now ;)
DeleteThese look like some wonderful books, especially House of Versace and Black Klansman. Libraries are such magical places. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBlack Klansman was so interesting, I definitely recommend it. Will get to Versace soon!
