Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is a book cover freebie, so I am showcasing a random assortment of books that I read in December and January that have haunting/beautiful/stunning/unique covers.
Happy Reading!
Sarah
Wilder Girls! Love that cover. I have that one and it's awesome in person. Slayer is nice too.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a trip and I had to really look at it for a while before I could truly "see" it.
DeleteWilder Girl is very effective. I modified this week's topic, though you can see my favorite books with their covers! My favorite YA Books of the decade with covers.
ReplyDeleteI like that idea! I was short on time or so not creative with this week's post.
DeleteI'm sure I'll see more of Wilder Girls on other lists - yours is already the second one I've seen so far.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a trippy cover, but makes so much sense when you read the book and how the island changed them all, and really got inside them. Decent story, beautiful cover.
DeleteI really like the cover for The Ship of Dreams. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI am very obsessed with the photos and footage of Titanic. That's how I want to see and remember her, not the way she looks in her grave now.
Deleteevery time i see the wilder girls cover it grabs my attention

It's so fitting for the book too and the story. Have you read it?
DeleteI haven't read Slayer yet, but I just adore that cover! I'm really digging purple covers lately for some reason, especially if it's a purple/black combination. I really like the cover for Wilder Girls, too. It's sort of creepy, but also unique and eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT post.
The cover for Chosen is pretty cool too - though I have a hard time personally with any Slayer who is not Buffy. As for Wilder Girls, I don't think a more perfect cover for the story could exist. Such a perfect, perfect image.
DeleteThe Last Jew cover is so hauntingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes! I can't look at it for very long, I get such a deep sense of sadness.
DeleteMagna Carta is really cool!
ReplyDeleteI featured my top ten book covers of the decade: https://wordsandpeace.com/2020/01/28/top-ten-book-covers-of-the-decade/
I really love old manuscripts from the middle ages and earlier. The amazing attention to detail and extras that you can find in the margins are always so interesting.
DeleteWilder Girls is one of my favorite covers from last year. It's so stunning and creepy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteYes!! And so perfect for the story, how the island really got inside them and changed them. One of the most perfect cover/text combos ever, not sure a better cover for it could ever exist.
DeleteI loved how varied your reading is! I love the cover of Wilder Girls.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole - that's how I can read so many books at once, has to be a big variety! I think Wilder Girls is the most popular book on the list, and with good reason. It is so perfect and creepy. I love it.
DeleteI do like the cover for Slayer. It triggers major Buffy nostalgia. :)
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to find I genuinely enjoyed this duology. I am fiercely protective of Buffy and authors trying to alter the Buffy-verse. I like that the author explored a different aspect of the universe, and didn't try to write characters we know and love. I definitely recommend checking them out from the library.
DeleteI loved seeing all these book covers!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I lucked out reading books with beautiful covers the last two months!
DeleteThere are some stunning covers out there these days.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Wilder Girls is super trippy and I love it.
