  1. Nothing for me.. obviously! 'The Restless Kings' is definitely on my 'List' though!

    1. Good! I am safe until January. Although, I have been clearing more books from my TBR. The likelihood of be even being able to find some of the books on my list written in the 40s is suspect. Not to mention much of the information is no longer accurate, as scholarship has advanced and we've also shifted a little bit away from the misogyny when writing about queens.

As for Restless Kings...I DNF-ed it. It's really hard to find value in something with no footnotes, or notes, and vaguely worded statements that are not known facts, but presented as such.

    2. I have been browsing through my Amazon Wish List but don't intend actually buying anything until after 1st Jan. No planned trips out before that either. You are indeed safe - for now at least.

    3. Good! I am still making room on my TBR, major end of year clearing out is happening!

I had a lot of issues with the Kings book, so it may be one you can cross off your list. Get it from the library instead if you still want to read it!

    1. I ended up DNF-ing it, sorry!

You will love Reckless Girls, I think. I was wary at first because The Wife Upstairs was just okay for me, but I LOVED Reckless Girls.

    3. I just could not get into it! I think it's an anomaly though, we usually like the same books.

  4. Even though Reckless Girls isn't my type of read, the cover just grabs my attention every time I see it. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

    1. I was a little unsure of it because I did not love The Wife Upstairs like everyone else seemed to, but I LOVED Reckless Girls. The cover definitely fits the atmosphere, in the beginning at least...
