  1. I wasn't *planning* on buying any this week, but my local charity shop had the sequel to a Sci-Fi book I already had, so....

  2. As a fan of Friends, I'm off to look at that book. I miss good sitcoms. They seem to be a lost art form on TV these days.

    1. Eleanor and I don't have any tv services anymore, no streaming, nothing. We have a projector and dvd player for movies and that's it. It's all mostly nonsense, except sports because we do love basketball and football and volleyball a whole lot.

I watched Friends from the very start at like, 11, and feel asleep to it every night for YEARS until Eleanor was born. After Matty died I started it over from the very beginning and Eleanor wanted to watch, too. Now we watch at least an episode a day, more on the weekends, and are on our third rewatch I think.

    1. I mostly like it so far but the author has taken a couple digs at Chandler and I am not sure I will keep reading if it continues. Chandler and Rachel were always my favorites and I shall hear no slander on either.

  4. I will have to get that Friends book. Our family is probably one of the greatest fan of it. We have whole conversations with their quotes.

    1. I started watching when it first premiered, I was 11. After the series ended Mom got me the boxed set for Christmas and I spent the next decade falling asleep to it every night. Eleanor asked to start watching it with me after Matty died and we are now on our third run through it together. It was so funny the first time through, when she heard the characters say things that I say to her all the time. Every time one comes up she's like, "Oh, that's where you got it from" lol

    2. That sounds great. Well, our boys grew up with it, like you, so they know everything by heart. They still watch it all the time.

    3. I love seeing the episodes and storylines new through her eyes, and what she thinks of them. She's very conflicted about the Ross and Rachel break, we just watched the ski trip episode this evening.

    4. That is certainly a great thing to rewatch it with young eyes.

    5. I've told her there is no conflict in that situation though, Ross was definitely wrong in that case. But they are so toxic to each other at various times, they deserve each other.

    6. Oh, he was definitely in the wrong.

    7. Yep. But to an 11 year old, a break is black and white. Either they're together or not.

    8. So, Ross is like an 11 year old. LOL

    9. Pretty much, lol. For being so smart, he was so emotionally immature.

  5. Happy to see you've got the new Sager novel! I really enjoyed it!

    1. I did too! I was not surprised by some of the complaining in reviews of people expecting it to be like his previous novels. There was still a mystery but it was much more coming of age than thriller and I don't think it is what some expected. I really loved it, even with it being so different from his usual stuff.
