First Line Friday #169

First Line Friday is a weekly feature and simple to do - grab the book nearest you and post the first line. Carrie hosts this over on her blog Reading is my Superpower.

On the evening of June 7, 1898, Mrs. Frank Leslie had every reason to rest on her laurels.

Happy Reading!
Sarah

"Mrs McGillicuddy panted along the platform in the wake of the porter carrying her suitcase."

'4.50 from Paddington' by Agatha Christie.

    1. It was an okay book. She's not a terribly good person, so I don't know that it is a bad thing that history has forgotten her.
