It's First Line Friday!
This week my first line is from Hunting the President: Threats, Plots, and Assassination Attempts - from FDR to Obama. (Don't ask me why that weird hyphen is there; I have no idea.)
"President Roosevelt, the only president elected four times, who led America during the Great Depression and through World War II, was the target of would-be assassins who threatened to bomb his train, blow up the White House, and simply shoot him."
Leave your First Line below and then head over to my fellow First-Liners blogs to see what they have waiting for you this week!

Delete"Good evening," said Lucy. But the Faun was so busy picking up its parcel that at first it did not reply. "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," by C.S. Lewis. I don't know how many times I've journeyed to Narnia! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have never read this books. I am not sure how they escaped me. They are exactly what I would have loved in elementary school. Now I pretty much only read nonfiction, but perhaps when my little girl is a little older, we can start them together. Have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteMy first line is: " "...for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." The words grabbed the man by the throat." (I had to include that 2nd line!) from Moving Target by Lynette Eason
ReplyDeleteI can see why! Intriguing, indeed - thanks for coming by!
