Upcoming Reviews

There are any number of reasons that a review might not be written immediately after I've finished a book. Perhaps it is an ARC review that the author or publisher has requested be posted in a certain time frame; it might also be that I am short on time at that moment; I might need a while to decompress after what I've read; or, last but not least, I might just be in Lazy Mode, where all I want to do is lay on the couch and read, not sit at my desk and write. Luckily, Lazy Mode doesn't typically last too long. Here you will find the list of all upcoming reviews, and hopefully find books of interest as well. Books are grouped by subject when applicable, but may be reviewed individually (i.e. most ARCs).

  1. Looks like lots of good stuff. Just off the top of my head I think The turbulent Crown and We Were Eight Years in Power look fascinating, and The World of Jesus and Eruption as well!

    1. And wouldn't you know, those are some that I enjoyed the most! I had not read Coates' articles before they had been put into the book, but I really liked his writing, and the additional material he provides to accompany each article. Very powerful.

Eruption was crazy. I see old footage of it now, and then look at before and after photos. Nature is beautifully terrifying.

  4. how can you remember all those?! i got a bit dizzy reading them but i was wondering if "Becoming" was worth reading...

    1. I tend to take pretty extensive notes when I read, so I have things written down. Now I only need to expand on what I jotted down and BOOM! Review!

I loved Becoming. But, I also love Michelle Obama, so I might be slightly biased. Her book is not biased though. It is so, so good.

  5. I would not be able to remember enough about that many books to write any kind of review on them... I'd have "I liked it/didn't like it" and maybe a stand out thought but that'd be it!
Do you take notes? What's the trick?

    1. I take TONS of notes, otherwise I would never be able to write reviews so long after the fact. I have also gone through the list again to see what I am just not interested in reviewing anymore, so that is helping things and I have removed several titles that way - but this is what remains! AUGH! I have no one to blame but myself, so slowly but surely I will defeat this thing.

  6. There’s no way on earth I could write this many reviews and keep my thoughts straight! Even if I took notes I’d still mess up but I think The Ship of Dreams sounds really good! But… I’m a sucker for anything Titanic.

    1. I do take tons of notes, so that helps a lot. Ship of Dreams was FANTASTIC. Definitely a great read for you. Gareth is a great writer.
