So there is a big difference from last month to this month because in early April I went on a bender and requested twenty, TWENTY!, new ARCs. I have not had a binge like that in a loooooooong time and my ratio will suffer for it. However, in my defense, they all look suuuuper good and I WANT THEM ALL!

When I first started blogging my monthly State of the ARC I felt like I was drowning in ARCs. My main goal was to get my NetGalley feedback ratio above 80% and thanks to this meme, I slowly but surely clawed my way up. At my highest I was at 97%. I am currently at 85% now after this binge.

How have you done with your ARCs in the last couple months without State of the ARC around? Did you keep posting your own, or are you just starting back now?

Special Feature | Eleanor Reads! COVID-19 April Edition

It will come as a surprise to literally no one that Eleanor and I have both done a pretty solid amount of reading since school has been closed. As of April 1st, schools are now closed for the rest of the year. It is a devastating thing to have happen. I am heartbroken for Eleanor and my 6th graders. But it is also the absolute right call.

Here Eleanor and I are going to share the books we have read together in April. She is a first grader but has long loved chapter books, starting with the Rainbow Magic fairies, and Magic Tree House adventures; this was before Kindergarten even started! Eleanor was born a reader and that makes my heart so, so happy.

Tackling the TBR Week 16: April 22 - April 30, 2020

My TBR has been out of control for YEARS. Then in January of 2019 I started tracking weekly my true reading/acquiring habits, and voila! I have been able to keep on top of things a little bit better. I may never get below 1,000 books, but at least I won't be topping out over 5,000! When a book cover is linked, it goes to the review here on my blog.

I will be posting on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and the last day of the month. Feel free to join in if you'd like!

Moved in the right direction this week, but it was terrible in terms of making real progress.

The next few weeks are going to be rough due to it being announced last week that schools are now going to close one week early. That's one week less for me to get all my IEPs and paperwork done. The thought of not getting to say goodbye to my kids this year is absolutely heartbreaking. They're sixth graders, so next year they will be on to middle school. This group made me truly love teaching again. I had not felt that way in a long time.
