The invitations, sent by telegram four days earlier, left no doubt. The capital was calling. On Monday, February 20th, 1933, at 6 p.m., about two dozen of Nazi Germany's wealthiest and most influential businessmen arrived, on foot or by chauffeured car, to attend a meeting at the official residence of the Reichstag president, Hermann Goring, in the heart of Berlin's government and business district.

Looking back on this, a night whose repercussions would change Europe's history forever, some claimed to remember nothing more than a distant noise.

Tackling the TBR Week 36: Sept 15 - Sept 21, 2022

This is year FOUR of Tackling the TBR and I finally have things sort-of under control. My ultimate goal would be to get under 500 books, but I also have to be realistic - just think of all the books not even written yet that I will want to read. When I started this mess  I was at well over 5,000 books on the TBR, so to be where I am now is pretty incredible.

I will post on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month.

Like I mentioned last week, Blogger and I are fighting. Don't know why but something weird is happening with images I try to upload to a post. It let's me add a couple, then freezes the whole page and won't respond. I would rather show off the books I have finished for the week than what I am currently reading. Hopefully this gets sorted soon!
