As of tonight, I reached my Goodreads goal of 275 books this year! The competitor in me wants to up the goal to 280, or 285, but I am going to quell those thoughts and relax in knowing that I am done with any kind of reading commitment related to goals. I will do a more specific year-old post to discuss all of the goals I had for the year, but I just had to share that tonight, WOOHOO! I made it!
Gulp....! I AIM @ 70 but don't always get there (won't this year) and hope to push that to 100 post-retirement.... but 275!!!!! Nope, not happening [looks *impressed*]
ReplyDeleteI do have to admit that I count books I read with Eleanor, but only when they are chapter books. I do not count picture books at all toward this total. But she has a couple series that she really loves, like the Disney princess Beginnings, the American Girls Wellie Wishers, and this Rainbow Fairy series. We read a lot of them over the summer, though, when we had tons more time to lounge around reading. How long until you can retire? I'm 35 and already ready to retire and do nothing but read all day!!
DeleteMy plan is to retire in April 2020 @ age 60. My ex-boss asked if I'd be bored. I replied that I didn't come into work for something to do and that if I spent the next 20 years at home, with my feet up, reading books I wouldn't consider it a waste of time.
DeleteNice, that is not too far off at all, lucky! I don't think one could ever be bored in a world with so much to read.
DeleteCongratulations on hitting your target! I failed miserably this year but hopefully next year will be better for me!
ReplyDeleteThank you Chuckles! What was your goal this year??
DeleteHoly cow! Great job!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Stephen!
