I kind of want to get The Writing Retreat...
ReplyDeleteIt was okay. Some parts were fantastic and others I was like...wtf.
DeleteI keep getting it mized up with The Retreat by Pearse. That one I wanna get
DeleteThis was okay, but slow so you'd be okay to pass on it.
DeleteTwo non-fiction from me this week, but I think you're safe!
ReplyDeleteThe Uses of Disorder - Personal Identity and City Life by Richard Sennett
Building and Dwelling - Ethics for the City by Richard Sennett
Oh, and a book recommendation! It's mysterious AND creepy - so definitely for you!!
Paper Ghosts by Julia Heaberlin. Review in about 2 weeks.
Our library has Paper Ghosts so I requested it, it sounds SO good. The Sennett book could be interesting. I'll wait for your review though!
DeleteJust finished 'Ghosts' about an hour ago. REALLY enjoyed it.
DeleteYay! I can't wait to read it!!
DeleteDon't know if I will get to my weekend posts this week. Thanks for sharing some good looking books.

I will finally get more posts queued and ready to go now that summer vacation is here!
DeleteNice haul. Hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI especially enjoyed the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, no matter how fantastical it got.
DeleteThose first 4 books look like an interesting series. And the Paper Ghost book recommended by your friend sounds really good - off to take a look. Have a terrific week.

It was a fun series, and I really liked it. Not very believeable at times, but still a lot of fun.
DeleteLooks like a nice haul this week! I hope you enjoy them all (and find the time to read them, LOL, that is an area I am currently struggling!). Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteNow that we have arrived at summer vacation, my time is much more free and I can actually read AND write reviews.
DeleteI've heard mixed things about The Writing Retreat, so I'll be eager to hear your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteIt was so up and down. Now that summer vacation is here, I will actually have a lot more time for reviews and this will be one that gets a blurb, but nothing massive. It was not as good as I hoped it would be.
