First Line Friday #205

First Line Friday is a weekly feature and simple to do - grab the book nearest you and post the first line. Carrie hosts this over on her blog Reading is my Superpower.

Despite the oppressive heat, a vast crowd had gathered, pushing and sweating their way into the wide plaza in front of the entrance and spilling over into the boulevards leading to the venerable centuries-old cathedral.

Happy Reading!
Sarah

    1. I had to pause it because someone else was waiting for it at the library, then got distracted and forgot about it.

Lucky for you, the line you shared is from a book already on my TBR!

    2. Well, I saw the word 'disaster' in the title so knew you'd either be interested or it would already be on your various lists!
