  1. Maybe I should do this, as well. I bought quite a few this week, i.a. "A Promised Land". Yay!

    1. It's such a good book, I loved it so much - especially as I was reading it before the election so the other guy was still in office. As I was reading, I was hearing it in Obama's voice, so it was like he was talking to me and it was so wonderful I could have cried.

    2. That's what I imagine it will be. I had the feeling he talked to me in his other books, I could hear his voice in my mind. I'm sure it's the same with this one. Will start it soon.

And I loved how you referred to "the other guy". That's the only title he deserves.

    3. It's the only way I refer to him. I refuse to say his name at all. Have to cut off the oxygen to put out the flame.

    4. Totally agree. When I reviewed a book by a former "leader" of our country, I only used his initials, even in my list. I refuse to use his name.

    5. There are some people who simply do not deserve attention, and I think we can agree on who those people are!

    6. Definitely. And they are usually the ones who shout the loudest.

    7. it has been really nice to not be bombarded on Twitter with his nonsense. Even though his idiot kids are still active, no one seems to share their tweets as often, thank God!

    8. My husband said Twitter has become quite boring since they blocked him. Doesn't mean he misses him at all. But he (44+1) is trying to work through other channels. He's still present and tries for a comeback. This has to be avoided!!!

Anyway, I loved the comment by London's mayor when he said, he was working, he had no time to follow anything on Twitter. LOL

    9. It has been so lovely and quiet! I am enjoying it immensely. He keeps putting out these 'press releases' from 'the Office of the Former President' or whatever he is calling it, like it is a real thing, but thankfully a lot of the media is ignoring him (except Fox, of course) so that helps quite a bit. Most other channels are focusing on recovery and how to get ourselves righted again.

    10. Trouble is, those who loved him, still do and they read Fox. Let's hope they wake up and see what President Biden and his people have done in such a short time.

    11. I think it will take years to repair the damage the other guy did. Like, we are talking about YEARS of therapy for those who have been brainwashed.

    12. That's for sure. Definitely repairing the brainwashed.

    13. The problem now is that some of his craziest supporters still have their congressional seats. I am choosing to remain hopeful that as the FBI is building their case, it will involve some of those psychos going to prison also.

    14. Good luck with that. I hope so, as well.

    15. We definitely need all the luck and prayers and good vibes and positive thoughts we can get. It is going to take everything to rid our country of this disease.

  2. Just TWO for me this week. Both non-fiction (but it'll be OK for your TBR - probably).

Double Cross in Cairo - The True Story of the Spy Who Turned the Tide of War in the Middle East by Nigel West
Never Again - Britain 1945-51 by Peter Hennessy

  4. I got Kazuo Ishiguro's new book on my Kindle and am looking forward to reading it sometime soon, although there are several ahead of it in the queue.

    1. Always the story with us, right? Adding 'just one more' to the immediate TBR.

  5. Ha you got #noescape! And ooh Get even. I liked that one, but not the sequel much.

    1. Okay, so I ended up returning #noescape because I could not even deal with it after the nonsense that was #murderfunding. I ended up returning Get Even and the other one also, because I have decided her writing is not for me. I should have learned my lesson after Ten!
