Here we go!
This is year FIVE of Tackling the TBR and I finally have things sort-of under control. My ultimate goal is to get under 500 books, but I also have to be realistic - just think of all the books not even written yet that I will want to read. When I started this mess I was at well over 5,000 books on the TBR, so to be where I am now is pretty incredible.
I will post on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month.

ReplyDeleteI am on the library wait list for The Hike. Still haven't started Hawkins' new one yet because I have so many due before it to read. I am struggling big time right now with NetGalley!
DeleteI've got West Heart Kill, The Heiress, and No One Can Know on my TBR too. What did you think of Down the Hill?
ReplyDeleteDown the Hill was a huge disappointment. I should have expected it, since the case is not resolved yet. But the author talked a lot about herself and being involved in the case. I feel like the girls and their families deserve better.

I totally get that. I too felt like the book should have probably waited until the case was fully resolved. The man getting arrested and awaiting trial felt like such a poor conclusion, probably because the story isn't concluded. I did appreciate the way it focussed on the resilience of the family though.
DeleteYes, that aspect of the book was good to see. I hate that the family has to be so strong, but so often we see families fall apart. That they've been able to stick together and keep seeking justice for the girls is stronger than I could ever be. This author was just not it for me though and I did not like her voice at all. I skimmed anything directly related to her life.
