Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc
Prime First Reads

A good looking haul. I like the look of The Vacation Rental.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

My post:

I don't usually have good luck with Prime but I am hopeful for this one!
DeleteA very mixed bag of 4 non-fiction for me this week:
ReplyDeleteSuperspy Science - Science, Death and Tech in the World of James Bond by Kathryn Harkup
The Ottomans - Khans, Caesars and Caliphs by Marc David Baer
This is Your Mind on Plants - Opium, Caffeine, Mescaline by Michael Pollan
The Allure of the Multiverse - Extra Dimensions, Other Worlds, and Parallel Universes by Paul Halpern
That middle one certainly sounds interesting..
DeleteI've loved Harkup's other books, I think we've talked about them? I am not really interested in James Bond, but love her other stuff so am definitely going to see if our library has it!
DeleteLibrary has it! YAY!
DeleteI'm a BIG James Bond fan - the older stuff generally but Craig was pretty good - so I HAD to have it. Maybe I'll *read* it one day.... [lol]
DeleteIf it's like her others, I think we'll both like it. I've read these so far:
DeleteA is for Arsenic: The Poisons of Agatha Christie
Death by Shakespeare: Snakebites, Stabbings and Broken Hearts
Making the Monster: The Science Behind Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Vampirology: The Science of Horror's Most Famous Fiend
The Shakespeare one is my most favorite, five stars. The rest were four stars for me. Great reads!
You have a bigger haul this week. I hope you enjoy them when you get a chance to read them. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's silly. I can't control myself when NetGalley emails me. EEK!
DeleteIf Something Happens to Me is on my list, and I was also considering The Vacation Rental. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI really liked If Something Happens to Me. I have not read Vacation yet, but will get to it at some point soon. I have not had great luck with Prime but fingers crossed on this one.
