Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc. Never has my addiction been more obvious than when I am now keeping track of every single book I acquire.

I already finished the Die Hard one, and am over halfway done with the President Obama book. You can see the Die Hard review HERE.
What did you add to your stash this week?
Happy Reading!
Sarah
Wow, you're slacking this week. :-p
ReplyDeleteI received "The New Tsar: The Rise and Reign of Vladimir Putin" as an interlibrary loan. I also bought Max Barry's "The Machine Man", a novel about a man who has a synthetic limb put on after an accident and then decides to...well, take it further. Barry is a quirky author -- his novels are usually funny, so I'm interested in this one.
A friend of mine was donating a box of books to the library, but gave me first dibs. Right now I'm considering "The Noonday Demon", a book on depression; "Strangers in Their Own Land", on the populist right; a book about the medical defeat of death, which I can't remember the title of; "Without Buddha, I Could Not Be a Christian", and..pretty sure there's another. Oh! JK Rowling's "Casual Vacancy". None of them are necessarily keepers, but I am giving them a weekend ponder.
I was too busy trying to pack for both myself and a 5 year old! Do you know how hard it is to pack for a 5 year old?? Literally anything I packed, she wanted to wear/play with/etc. It is a full time job in itself, haha.
DeleteWhile I've never packed for a five-year old, I did babysit my niece and nephew when they were (much) younger, though, and I can remember the amount of energy it took to keep them from disassembling the house!
DeleteHa, yes! I usually try to pack and get everything in the car while Eleanor is at her dad's, so there is no chance for her to pull things back out that she wants to play with, but it doesn't always work out that way.
DeleteJust two for me this week:
ReplyDeleteThe People Vs Alex Cross by James Paterson
Mythos - The Greek Myths Retold by Stephen Fry
Have we talked about James Patterson before? I know I talked with someone about him but I can't remember who and I don't want to say anything offensive if it was not you. I am not much of a fan, but I have only read one of his books, the King Tut one. It was...terrible.
DeleteMy haul was all about sharks, spiders, zombies, robots and bad things in the forest! Just a typical week at The Book Cave!
ReplyDeleteAll the creepy crawly things I can watch from afar as you dive right into the midst of it all!
DeleteObama... I miss him. :)
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, brother. You and me both.
DeleteOooh! I love the look of that Obama book! Great haul!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Stacking the Shelves!

I really liked it. Oral histories are an interesting genre and I am really getting into them. Plus, since it is about President Obama, so I was sold on it immediately.
DeleteI was really curious about Die Hard so I went and read your review, and I can't believe it's actually about the movie :D haha. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's only the GREATEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER!!! :D It was an interesting little read, only about seventy pages and free on KU.
DeleteInteresting - oral history genre. I must try one. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteIt's a genre I am really starting to like. Either of these are good starts, I have finished them both already!
