Sometimes a book just needs to be set aside when it's dragging so badly. Not struggling through regardless is something I'm trying to work on for myself!
ReplyDeleteYes!! it used to be really tough for me to DNF books and I have gotten a lot better about ditching ones I am not into. But I feel bad doing that on an ARC because after all, it IS an ARC. But there are some that I am just done with and can't go on reading. I at least send a note to the publisher to let them know why.
DeleteI can't read much non fiction these days as it seems to drag and wear out my brain, however well written it is!

DeleteIt seems like you're doing really well with your ARCs :) congrats! It's too bad they're dragging though. I know what you mean, I'm sort of dragging along two of my ARCs now as well.
ReplyDeleteI think July was my most productive month - probably because I was not able to participate in June :) I picked up a couple galleys from Llewellyn (I am auto-approved, so that makes that one dangerous, especially when they have new books about haunted places!)

ReplyDeleteYES!! ...until I lurked around on NetGalley and added three new books from an auto-approved publisher. And I had three book offers from publishers this week, so my numbers have increased a little. The struggle is real, haha.
