This week is a fun book-related topic - favorite things to eat and/or drink while reading.
I used to guzzle Mountain Dew by the 2 liter, until I gave it up cold turkey on account of it being, you know, TERRIBLE for me. I am not a coffee or tea drinker, and while I actually gave up all soda for the most part, I enjoy an occasional Sprite.
Mainly though it is my fave flavors of MiO, because I just can not handle plain old water - black cherry, blue raspberry, fruit punch, and acai berry storm are my faves.
As far as snacking goes, I try not to snack too much as I read - it is really easy to eat a lot and not even know it. BUT, I sometimes enjoy these yummy treats

Happy Reading!

I used to be the same way with Mountain Dew. I gave it up but I still drink Coke way too much. *shrug* I used to love Clearly Canadian water for the same reason- more fun than regular old water- but I hardly see it anymore.
ReplyDeleteIt was such an addiction! I'll drink Sprite but even that is still terrible so I am trying to give it all up. Sometimes I need something besides water though so Sprite and I are kind of at an impasse right now. I don't think I ever tried Clearly Canadian but I too don't recall seeing it anymore.
DeleteYou are so right, you mindlessly eat way too much when reading. But I still do it :D
ReplyDeleteYES!! I try to not keep snacks in the house for this exact reason. If I do, it is popcorn or something, but I have SUCH a sweet tooth.
DeleteI have such a sweet tooth, I definitely reach for jelly sweets and chocolate when I'm reading haha.

I do too, so I purposely try to not keep sweets in the house.
DeleteRed vines are delicious, and you're right about it being easy to eat way more than you realized if you snack while eating. That's why my list was filled with such healthy and generally low calorie food. LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
They're soooooooooooooooooo good!!
DeleteOMG Red vinessssssss. I haven't had those in so long and now you're making me want to find some and snack on them later lol. Great list :)
ReplyDeleteRIGHT??? So much better than Twizzlers!!
DeleteI gave up soda many years ago, but this time of year, I always crave ginger ale. Red Vines are fine, but I prefer Twizzlers, although I'll eat any form of licorice as long as it's not the black kind! Also - nonparelis! YES! Mom used to buy these all the time when we were kids and I loved them.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Agreed on black licorice being disgusting. It's not even real licorice. Gross! When I was little I called them non-parallels, haha
DeleteOOO Redvines! I like to eat those when I'm reading, but I don't have them around very often.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! If I have them, the whole bag will be gone in one night!
DeleteI gave up drinking soda for five years. I don't drink more than one a day now, and not every day. I only buy one at a time and I don't go to the store just to buy a soda. Now I mostly drink water.
ReplyDeleteSAME! it is so unhealthy but sometimes I crave something carbonated, just for a different feel, to kind of wake me up a little. Some day I won't even bother with Sprite and will be completely pop-free.
DeleteThis one...I couldn't do it because I don't drink that much of a variety. Water (sometimes straight, sometimes Nestle's fruit-flavored kind), and coffee, mostly, with a few others (tea, diet pepsi, brandy/wine/whiskey) on occasion. I try not to eat while reading because that drove my weight problems for years...every time I was reading I wanted to snack!
ReplyDelete*Meals excepting! I often read with my meals unless I'm in company.
DeleteYou see how sparse my list is! I try to not snack at all - I have put on a few pounds since last school year and I am NOT happy about it so this was a timely one for me to remind me to NOT snack.
DeleteI forgot - Eleanor and I read at the dinner table together - usually she is still eating because she is a dawdler, so I read out loud to her. It is one of my most favorite times of the day.
DeleteI do love red vines and twizzlers. :)

My mom and I are at odds about this one - I love Red Vines and she loves Twizzlers.
DeleteRed vines!!
ReplyDeleteSooooo good, right??
DeleteRed vines is sort of on mine. A few years ago it would have earned it's own spot but I feel they taste differently. And half the time I buy them they are already dry. But I still really like them and keep trying.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad about your sub-par Red Vines experiences!! I had a package a couple months ago that was stale and wholly disappointing. My mom thinks they taste like plastic but I still think they are delicious!
