Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.
Amazon First Reads (Feb)
What did you add to your stash this week?
Happy Reading!
Sarah
Erm..... One book? ONE? Presumably you're not feeling well? Get better soon, OK! [hugs]
ReplyDeleteJust two from me this week:
Fiction:
A Book of Bones by John Connolly
Non-Fiction:
In Xanadu - A Quest by William Dalrymple
Ha, thank you! I was pretty surprised by this myself this week, but it has bee hectic with work and paperwork and meetings. Eleanor got plenty of books, but this is my only!
DeleteI can only echo CK. Only one?
ReplyDeleteI bought a book last week -- "The Sand County Almanac", inspired by its being quoted in a book I read a few weeks back, Where the Crawdads Sing. A girl I'm trying to date also loves the book, so I also have less literary motives. :p
Yes, only one! Busy work week, meetings, etc. I am sure next week I will be back on track.
DeleteI hope your plan works in your favor and you are able to woo her with your knowledge of her favorite book ;)
(exasperated sigh) We'll see. We went out several times in December, but now that school is back in session she is completely focused to the point of being overwhelmed by her trying to finish this PhD. She's confident she'll be done by December, but that's a long time to pine! :p
DeleteThat IS an awfully long time, but if you went out a lot in the last couple months, then you know if it is worth the wait or not. What is she getting her PhD in??
DeleteEek, The Silence sounds kind of creepy! Hope you enjoy it. :D
ReplyDeleteMy weekly roundup post.
Thank you Nikki, I hope so too!!
DeleteI debated getting this one. I hope it's good.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too, I have had shit luck lately with thrillers! What did you pick instead?
DeleteAre you reading a psych thriller? *cackles ominously*
ReplyDeleteHa, yes, and you know how terrible my luck has been with them lately!
DeleteI picked a different book for my First Read pick - In an Instant. I always have a hard time deciding and now I am wondering if I made the right choice :) I hope you enjoy this one and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI looked at that one too, it was a tough decision! I have had terrible luck lately with thrillers so hopefully this one is good.
DeleteI haven't checked out the First Reads selection in awhile :) Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Megan! I only recently began Prime, in the last few months. I was very delighted to find that First Reads is one of the bookish benefits to Prime.
DeleteWell, I went to the library to pick up hold and came home with 3:
ReplyDeleteThe Night Fire by Michael Connelley
Portrait of a Spy by Daniel Silve
Flashback by Nevada Barr
All tried and true thriller writers as far as I am concerned.
Awesome, hope they turn out to be great reads for you!
DeleteI hope you enjoy your book! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jillyn!
