  1. Yeah, you got 'Red Summer'! I'm going to *try* to read it this year along with two other books with the word 'Red' in the tile because I can..... Looking forward to your review.

Just one of each for me this week. I don't think either will interest you much.

    Fiction:

Dead of Night by Simon Scarrow

    Non-Fiction

Entangled Life - How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds, and Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake.

    1. You know me so well, I will pass on the fungi!

Red Summer was hard to read but so necessary. There's a chapter in there about Omaha and the murder of Willie Brown. His story is so heartbreaking and all these years later our city is still grappling with the consequences of that and the civil unrest in the late 60s. Whole city blocks in North Omaha were damaged or completely destroyed on N 24th Street and nothing was ever rebuilt. It's really sad to see.

  2. I thought I'd read something by Megan Goldin but I guess not. That cover or whatever must be reminding me of another one...

  6. I'm very excited for you to read The Night Swim. To me, it is the best she's written so far. I've also got the new Sager on hold. Only 81 more readers ahead of me!

    1. I just got a bunch of new NetGalley ARCs so The Night Swim is on hold but I am looking forward to it! I really LOVED Sager's new book. I picked up pretty quickly on some of the 'twists', but that did not dimish how good the book was. I feel like it was much better than The House Across the Lake, which was not my fave.
