First Line Friday is a weekly feature and simple to do - grab the book nearest you and post the first line. Carrie hosts this over on her blog Reading is my Superpower.
The lavendar-hued poster of The Breakfast Club has hung on the walls of countless childhood bedrooms and college dorm rooms over the past quarter of a century.
Happy Reading!

Ah... John Hughes.... Brilliant!

'King Solomon's Mines' by H Rider Haggard.
I tried so hard with this one, because I loved his movies so much as a kid and didn't see the issues that I do today. I especially loved Breakfast Club and Say Anything, but none aged well. And the author was not objective at all, totally glossed over any of those issues. I might try again in the future though.
DeleteThat's an interesting looking cover. Enjoy!
