Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.
Library Treasures
What did you add to your stash this week?
Happy Reading!
Sarah
Will be watching for the prison book!
ReplyDeleteI just bought "Belt and Road: A Chinese World Order". I have a geopolitics reading list and I noticed the kindle was at an OK price ($9). Really hoping two books on the mideast (one on Iran/Saudi Arabia, the other on China's involvement in the area) will come down soon..
Your Kindle price range is so much higher than mine, lol. If a book is more than $1.99 I won't buy it!
DeleteThe prison book is the only one I have not gotten to yet. Two were duds and I am halfway through the Egypt one now.
I'm still on a political buying spree, getting memoirs of ministers who served in governments in the 70's, 80's and 90's and this week I snagged a horror sequel and short story for a favourite series. I've also ordered a few retro horrors and a few books in series I follow. Busy week but it hasn't done damage to the TBR thankfully!
ReplyDeleteI've been really good this week, as we are home in Minnesota. Though, I do have a library card for the library in town where my mom lives - despite never having lived here myself. Only four for me, but about ten for Eleanor!
DeleteI haven't read nor heard any of these. I hope they're good :)
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
The Egypt one is really good so far. Unfortunately two were duds and I was really disappointed.
DeleteEgypt! *nuff said!*
ReplyDeleteIt's really good, I am about halfway done.
DeleteA better/bigger haul than expected for me this week:
ReplyDeleteFiction:
The Last by Hanna Jameson
The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins
The Rumour by Lesley Kara
The Man With No Face by Peter May
Out of the Dark by Gregg Hurwitz
The Fox by Frederick Forsyth
Non-Fiction:
Indianapolis - The True Story of the Greatest Naval Disaster in US History and the Fifty-Three Year Fight to Exonorate an Innocent Man by Lynn Vincent and Sara Vladic
Arabia - A Journey Through the Heart of the Middle East by Levison Wood
Seashaken Houses - A Lighthouse History from Eddystone to Fastnet by Tom Nancollas
When the Germans Came - True Stories of Life Under Occupation in the Channel Islands by Duncan Barrett
Hmmm. Indianapolis and Arabia may be going onto my TBR! Nice haul.
DeleteOoh, I hadn't heard of that ME book by Wood.
ReplyDeleteI see he's written several travelogues which look interesting....
DeleteA quartet of Roman-era historical novels by Nancy Jardine for me. They look more romancey than my usual fare, but I love that era of history
ReplyDeleteHopefully they are not too romancey for you!
DeleteAgain, just one new book in but I fear a new deluge may be on the way.
ReplyDeleteWell it has been a couple weeks, so you are due for one... ;)
