    1. What is a Girl Worth? is FANTASTIC. I could not put it down, and I am still angry about the whole situation. Such a good book, I will be reviewing it here at some point soon.

  3. You know I said last time that I wasn't anticipating any book buying until the New Year.....?

Well, I paid off my mortgage on Monday so felt like celebrating, plus my last payment was about £200 *less* than anticipated, plus my final policy paid out *more* than I was expected.... So, BOOKS, right???

    1. Congratulations!!!!

I've read the Mitter book and remember enjoying it. I think it was part of my WW2 series that never finished -- I'd gotten to late 1943, I think.

This is the one. It sounds like it's the same content, but perhaps the UK edition has a different title?

    3. Thanks. It does seem a bit strange after 25 years of paying it off not to have that debt any more!

They do *seem* to be the same book. I think my edition was printed a year or 2 after the previous title so I'm guessing its just a later edition? Weird and confusing.

I have a pile of books (actually now 2 piles!) about the early years of WW2 and another pile from D-Day to the early Cold War years..... I always seem to enjoy starters and deserts rather than main courses. [grin]

    4. Congratulations on the pay-off!! I paid off my car early and yes, it is such a strange feeling to now not have that debt to work on.
