I have been in "need" of a new Kindle for a while. I love the one I have, it is four years old, and getting kind of particular. Some days it holds a charge like normal, then sometimes it dies at 80%. It's not an actual need, but then last night my momma was asking for Christmas gift ideas...
You win, Mom.
(A little backstory, our living room television went out a couple months ago and I have not purchased a new one. We have a smaller television in my bedroom when we want to snuggle up and watch movies, but otherwise that's it. Mom has offered to buy us a new one and I keep declining, thus why this particular threat was so effective 😂)
My new Kindle arrives tomorrow!
Happy Reading
Sarah
Mother's, eh? [grin]
ReplyDeleteIndeed :)
DeleteMy mom is too generous like this, too. And, she does know how to get cooperation with her mom threats. Enjoy that Kindle. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes! I am 36, and mom-threats STILL work on me, lol. The Kindle is lovely and I am using it already!
DeleteLOLOL!!
ReplyDeleteMany a friends were quite amused by this on Facebook, too
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteMy momma is pretty neat :)
DeleteOh my gosh that's too funny! Mom wins... :)
ReplyDeleteI am 36 and Mom STILL wins! But I can't complain too much... :)
DeleteLOL your mom sounds like a hoot. makes me think of my mom

She is! I am very lucky. And it sounds like you are too <3
DeleteShe sounds fun! I can understand the tv antipathy...I gave mine to my parents after I realized I hadn't used mine in months. I only ever used it for movies and Netflix, and now both of my PS4 and my computer are more than capable of doing those. (I have them both hooked up into my television-sized monitor, so all I have to do is switch its input from DVI to HDMI..:) )
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new Kindle when you get it...mine is similarly old but my phone completely displaced it as an e-reader.
Our tv started slowly dying. For a while we could adjust the contrast and such so it was still usable. We have never had cable or anything since I was pregnant with Eleanor, I only had Netflix. But it was through the Wii and in March of this year Wii stopped supporting Netflix. Then the tv finally gave out and the screen is now bright white and no amount of adjusting helps. There is a small tv in my bedroom so when we want to watch a movie we snuggle up in our jammies and do so. I do not miss the tv at all.
DeleteI could not read on my phone. I have to have, and LOVE my Kindle!
This is way too cute! My mom is like this too. What she sometimes does, which I can't stand, is that she buys something great to wear for herself and when I compliment her on it, she gives it to me... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteAnd when I go to the mall with her, she'll always pay for ANYTHING I buy!
We gotta love our moms <3
Thanks :) My mom is pleasantly surprised by all the comments on this and Facebook. She is a hoot. And she does all the same things your mom does - I keep saying I am 36 and she doesn't have to pay for my stuff. But I am an only child so she's done so my whole life. And she spoils my daughter like there's no tomorrow. We are lucky to have moms who love us so much!
DeleteLol, parents at their best here! I hope you enjoy your new kindle! I had a mini-breakdown setting mine up and getting everything loaded onto it *just so* when I got my new one a few Christmases a go!
ReplyDeleteIt took THREE days to finally finish downloading all my books to the new Kindle and I was having a breakdown too! I was seriously frustrated that it took so long to download, it was crazy. But, now I am blissfully happy with my new Kindle and all is right in my book world again!
