Tackling the TBR Week 37 AND Week 38: Oct 1 - Oct 14, 2020

My TBR has been out of control for YEARS. Then in January of 2019 I started tracking weekly my true reading/acquiring habits, and voila! I have been able to keep on top of things a little bit better. I may never get below 1,000 books, but at least I won't be topping out over 5,000! When a book cover is linked, it goes to the review here on my blog.

I will be posting on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and the last day of the month. Feel free to join in if you'd like!

If a book is linked in the 'Books Read' section, you can click the cover to go to my review.

Finally had a moment to breathe and remove some books from my TBR that I am no longer interested in. I have to get progress moving in the right direction and this week I did it!

Any of these catch your eye? Have you already read any? Let me know!

Happy Reading!

  1. You DNF'd 'The book Thief'? How come? I've heard nothing but good things about it....

    1. Same here, everyone seems to love this incredibly dull and boring book. I could not force myself to finish it!

    2. I'll get around to it eventually, I guess. But SO many books..... SO much free time.... [grin]

    3. Exactly! I could not get into it no matter how hard I tried, so I am moving on to something else!

  2. So I'm curious what you thought of a certain thriller up there :)

    2. Ooh The Wife Between Us? How was that one???

    3. It was one that was 'meh' for me. The ONLY twist that made sense was the very last one, everything else was dumb. Brackenhill was AMAZING though, you'd probably like it.

  3. Hi there! I've started with The Book Thief 3 times. I kid you not. The first time, I didn't get past page 1. The second time, I got distracted by another book. Third time was the charm and I LOVED it. Maybe it will work for you too.

I guess I should be proud of myself for keeping my TBR list below 500 books... But I still feel overwhelmed by it! Don't know how you cope with the pressure of over 3000 books. Wow!!

Happy Reading and enjoy your weekend!

    1. hey Elza, thanks for stopping by. Maybe I will try again in the future, but who knows. I kept at it for a bit and just did not feel any kind of connection. Plus my TBR is practically toppling over so there are many others to get to. I am very impressed with a TBR of less than 500 books!

    1. I'm so glad it is working for you! I hope I start finding my rhythm again soon and start knocking books out and off!

  5. I couldn't finish The Book Thief either... I also tried another book by the author (the one that has Clay in the title) but couldn't even make it through the first chapter. 😴

However, I did finally get my State of the ARC post up! Haha - - several weeks late.

    1. Oh no! I was going to give that one a try next to see if I liked it - but now I might just toss it altogether. I am super picky about my fiction and maybe this author and I are just not meant to be.

Good job on State of the ARC, my post this month is going to be terribllllllllle. I have read hardly anything ARCish.
