Each month Eleanor and I share the chapter books we've read in that period. We've been reading chapter books since before Kindergarten and her attention span as a four year old was definitely something to brag about. Eleanor was born a reader and that makes my heart so, so happy.
Do the kiddos in your life have an interest in any of these?
Happy Reading,
Eleanor and Sarah
I do sometimes regret not being a kid today - the books we had back then are *nothing* like this. I'm quite jealous! [grin]
ReplyDeleteKids now are really lucky with the sheer number of choices they have in material. I was pretty lucky to grow up on Baby Sitters Club, American Girls stories, Goosebumps, Fear Street, etc.
DeleteRather oddly..... I didn't read all that much as a child..... [lol]
DeleteI remember you saying that! So weird. I could not stop reading as a child.
DeleteHow lovely that you are reading all these books together. It makes me nostalgic for when my girls were little and we used to read together every night. They are still avid readers as adults. Reading with your child does make a difference.
ReplyDeleteIt so does make a difference. I love this time more than anything else, and I don't mind giving up my own reading time as long as Eleanor and I get to read together.
DeleteYeah the sheer volume of stuff for kids now is amazing. I can get lost in the childrens/ middle grade section just looking at all the cool covers. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThere really are so many great titles. I thought I had a wide variety to choose from as a kid, but now the amount available is out of this world.
