Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
I do a year-end post every year that highlights my 5-Star reads for the year. You can find that post HERE, and I do hope you check it out, because I read some absolute bangers. The full list includes adult fiction and non-fiction, YA fiction, and middle grade/elementary fiction that my daughter and I read together.
It was not easy to narrow this down at all, so here they are, in no particular order. For books that are part of a duology or a series, I included the first book only.
Have you read any of these? What are your top reads of 2022? Let me know!
Happy Reading
Sarah
Wow, such gorgeous covers! I really need to start reading TJR this year! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI really love her stuff since Daisy Jones and the Six. I tried an earlier book and it was okay but I feel like these newer ones are her best work.
DeleteI know I put some of your books on my wishlist but haven't gotten that far, yet. Thanks for the "reminder".
ReplyDeleteYay!! Which ones?
DeleteSurvival ... Shadows, Female ... Species, Audacity ..., quite a few. I was going to write them all down but here are the numbers: 2, 4, 5, 7, 10, 15, 16, they all sound highly interesting.
DeleteVery excellent choices. I hope you love them as much as I did!
DeleteAll your recommendations are excellent choices, Sarah.
DeleteThank you, I am glad you find them helpful!
DeleteWe can all find new books by ourselves, in local bookshops, on the internet etc. But it's so much better getting recommendations from someone you know has a similar taste and liked them.
DeleteYes! And that's also why we are such good friends with our librarians. They find us both all kinds of treats. Even the librarians who don't know us as well as others have ehard enough of our conversations to set books aside for us.
DeleteThat is fantastic. I used to have a library like that but the one in this town is just too small to offer a lot of choices and the stuff they have is not my cup of tea. Unfortunately.
DeleteThat makes me sad to hear. We have I think 15 locations, and the surrounding suburbs have their own branches, so we have tons to choose from.
DeleteWell, it's a small town and they offer what people want to read.
DeleteDoes your library allow purchase requests? I utilize that a lot! We get five requests per month, per account, so with Eleanor's card we actually get 10.
DeleteThey only buy new releases and what the majority wants to read. And only German books, of course. So, there are not many books that I would like to read that they could offer.
DeleteSuch a bummer. Does your library allow you to request from other libraries around the country? We can do so, which is such a great feature when it is an older book that the library won't purchase due to when it was released.
DeleteI know. My old library did that but this one, unfortunately not.
DeleteYour library just gets worse and worse. Sorry :(
DeleteIt's just a small one based on volunteers, that's the first problem. And there are not enough readers of serious literature, that's the second.
DeleteVolunteers are incredibly vital, but it is hard to do a good job if you do not have resources, or an audience! I'm sorry.
DeleteI think it's mainly the audience, it's just not possible to get a book for just one person.
DeleteSuch a bummer. I wouldn't be able to handle that!
DeleteThat's why I stay away.
DeleteSounds like the best plan.
Delete👍
Delete:)
DeleteHow to Get Away With Myrtle looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-books-of-2022/
It is SUCH a fun series, book four just came out in October. I think I would probably read them even if Eleanor was not interested.
DeleteI see you had a great reading year in 2022! Mine had been pretty dull, so I'm hoping to fix that in 2023 -- and thanks for the new TBR additions for me :) ~Lex (lexlingua.co)
ReplyDeleteOh for sure, it was a great year and I hope 2023 will be the same. I hope you have a great reading year also. What books did you take from my list?? I love seeing what others think about books I show off.
DeleteI loved Family of Liars! It made my favorites list too. — Diana
ReplyDeleteit was SO good!!
DeleteThe Agathas is on my TBR. I actually had borrowed it from the library but never got the chance to read it before I had to return it. :( I will read it this year.

It was such a great read, I loved it so much. I hope you love it too. I can't wait for the next one!
DeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books on your list, but The Agathas and Carrie Soto is on my TBR.
Have a good reading year!
Elza Reads
They were both so good, I hope you love them as much as I do!!
DeleteThat TJR book made my list today as well. Such a good read.
ReplyDeleteI love her books so much, ever since Daisy Jones.
DeleteI've not read any of these, but The Nowhere Girls is on my TBR.

It's SO good, I hope you love it too!!
DeleteI read The Nowhere Girls a couple of years ago and loved it too. Hope you have a great reading year ahead of you!
ReplyDeleteSUCH a great read! Here's to more in 2023!
DeleteI had a difficult time narrowing mine down too. I decided to skip the end of year review with all my books I loved (56 alone with 5-stars) since I do monthly wrap ups. I just felt it would be too much this year.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan for you. I don't do the monthly wrap-ups because I am a hot mess, haha. I did not even count how many five stars I actually had.
DeleteNightbooks looks like a fun read. I definitely need to check that one out!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
We loved it, such a cool concept. There is a sequel called Gravebooks that is really great too.
DeleteThis is a nice list. I like all the different genres.
ReplyDeleteI am usually all about non-fiction, 2022 was such a different year for me and I loved it!
DeleteI'm glad you found so many great books! I liked all the Mindy McGinnis books I've read, but I haven't gotten to that one yet. Carrie Soto is on my TBR list too.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a great reading year for me! The Initial Insult and The Last Laugh are SO good; just a duology so not a whole series. Fantastically done, and if you like Poe you will love it.
