State of the ARC #22

State of the ARC is a monthly feature hosted by Avalinah's Books.
All the rules can be found at the link provided. I am temporarily hosting for Evelina until she is able to get back into it. So, until then, thanks for joining me here!

Links go to Goodreads, unless I have finished the review. The majority of the ARCs I receive are through NetGalley. Some have also come from publicists, or were offered to me from a publisher who specifically approved me for it on NetGalley; I will always note in the review how I acquired the ARC.

When I first started blogging my monthly State of the ARC I felt like I was drowning in ARCs. My main goal was to get my NetGalley feedback ratio above 80% and thanks to this meme, I slowly but surely clawed my way up. At my highest I was at 97%. I am currently at 93% even with two NetGalley ARCs due (Tombstone and Race Against Time), and The Girls Are Gone waaaaaaaay overdue. Now that I am back in the swing of things, getting those reviews done will be priorities.

How have you done with your ARCs in the last couple months without State of the ARC around? Did you keep posting your own, or are you just starting back now?

I am so excited to be helping out, let's talk ARCs!

Happy Reading
Sarah

  1. Tombstone looks like it would be a fun and informative read!

    1. It was a really great book. I need to get the review done ASAP. Tombstone is one of my favorite movies and I learned quite a bit more about the Earps that the movie just did not have time/space for.

  2. I would love to get my NetGalley percentage up to 90% or higher. I am getting closer with every book. It look like you are doing well with keeping things under control.

    1. It took me a reeeeally long time, but I finally managed with the help of the State of the ARC. Feel free to join any month. Evelina and I are coming up with some kind of really chill read-a-thon ideas while we are all safe at home.

  3. I wish I could get my NetGalley percentage to 80%! I think they approved all of my old requests once they realized people would be stuck at home, haha. I like how versatile this feature is! I use it to keep track of my upcoming ARCs, and refer back to it several times every month. Other people use it to track what they're reading, or have read, and I like the mix. :)

    1. It took a long time and I def would not have done it without this meme to help! Plus when I first started using Netgalley I did not pay attention to the whole percentage thing, so I requested and got approved for a ton of books...and my percentage was sooooo low for ages. I will be in a similar situation again very soon if my binge of requests and wishes are approved...I seriously just requested like, twenty new books. It's terrible. I have hundreds to read already! Physical and digital! It's not like I am lacking any reading material.

    1. I can see why! There were so many interesting titles discussed, I wish I had time for more fiction.
