    1. Isn't it lovely when you discover treasures you did not even know you had?! Eleanor and I are starting to clean and will have lots of time to do so, with no school for the coming week, at least.

    1. I just read two different books about train wrecks in the US that were really interesting, and also sad. I can't imagine too many more dangerous jobs in the 1800s/early 1900s.

  3. Looks like good stuff. The Reading Life especially- I'm kinda fascinated w/ CS Lewis but have read very little of his stuff (other than Narnia of course)??

    1. I have never read anything of his completely yet. I am working on Mere Christianity and have been for over two years. My pastor said to read it out loud to myself in a British accent and that I will understand, no problem. So, that's what I do, lol. I also have the Screwtape Letters but have not started it. This book was interesting because it is quotes from letters, reviews, etc that he has made about reading and its value, purpose, etc.

    2. Someone @ work lent me 'Mere Christianity' in an attempt to convert me. He said that it would change my life. I managed about 30-40 pages before I had to give it back. Needless to say I was not much impressed!

    3. Well, since my pastor recommended I read it while speaking out loud in a British accent, maybe you need to read it out loud in an American accent, lol. It's not actually a book, it is a collection of his radio shows in word-form. It is hard to get through.

    2. It was an interesting read, a collection of his quotes, reviews, etc that speaks directly of the love and value of books and reading and such.

  7. I am still trying to decide which book to pick for my Kindle First pick. Some months I know right away and other months, I just cannot decide. I hope you enjoy all of your new reads.

    1. I felt like there was a really good selection this month, and more options? I naturally had to go for the non-fiction because I have never seen a non-fiction choice until now! (Though I have not been using this benefit from Prime for very long because I only found out about it in January I think.)
