DeleteInterested in what you think of The Secret Twenties.
I am going to the curbside library to pick up 4 books today, all from 1965

Black Rain, Masuji Ibuse
The Blue Flowers, Raymond Queneau
The Beggar, Naguib Mahfouz
So glad you are finally really getting to do curbside. It's such a huge help!

ReplyDeleteThank you, it was wonderful!
DeleteHappy belated birthday and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Heather!!
DeleteRead ALL of the Courtney Summers! Actually I need to take my own advice, I have more of her stuff to read. Have you read her zombie ones yet? Ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
ReplyDeleteYou DO need to take your own vice - I have already read them all! Just waiting on The Project and I am going mad just thinking about it! I think Sadie and Cracked Up to Be are my faves. But Some Girls Are and All the Rage are so good too. AND This Is Not a Test and Please Remain Calm were not nearly as gross as I thought zombie apocalypse from Courtney Summers would be. She is SO GOOD with the completely heart-wrenching and traumatic books and I both hate and love her so much, lol
DeleteI need to read Courtney Summers. That other book is one I've been seeing around lately and I need to try it too.
ReplyDeleteLisa Loves Literature's Weekly Wrap-Up
YES!! I absolutely adore Courtney Summers, despite the fact that she kicks me in the teeth with every single book. Especially Sadie, that completely ripped my heart out. If you have not read anything by her yet, I would start with Sadie, Cracked Up to Be, or Some Girls Are. She also has a zombie apocalypse novel and novella, This is Not a Test and Please Remain. I only read them because she wrote them, and LOVED them, though I would never read that genre by anyone else.
DeleteHappy belated birthday! Saddie has such a pretty cover!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it too, and Cracked Up to Be. I wish there would be a cover re-design so all the books looked that way - though it would probably not work out so well for her zombie apocalypse novel and novella.
DeleteHappy belated birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! It was a wonderful day <3
DeleteI had the opportunity a while back to read Sadie, and I just never did. I kind of regret it now since I've heard good things. Maybe I'll check it out from the library some time.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! And thanks for visiting Shell's Stories!
Thanks for the birthday greeting and visit as well!
DeleteSadie is spectacular. I have read every book that Courtney Summers has written so far - except The Project because it is not out yet, and I have loved them all. They're tragic and heartbreaking and infuriating and wonderful. Definitely give Sadie a go. Cracked Up to Be and Some Girls Are, and All the Rage are also among my faves, but Sadie is my #1.
