My usual Tuesday night when my daughter is at her father's home. My goal is to have the first draft done by August 1st. I fear I won't make it. I started this project in February of 2017. I wrote and wrote and wrote, then discovered more and more sources - especially from the chroniclers of the time. So, now I am adding to what I wrote before, as well as completing chapters that were not yet done before the new sources. Someday, I will be able to do this for a living and it will be glorious.
Happy Reading!
Sarah
Good luck w/ the writing!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Greg! Sometimes it is overwhelming, but I am so excited to see the end product.
DeleteThe best of luck with that! I know that writing fiction is difficult but writing non-fiction must (at times) seem like a bit of a nightmare - especially with your chosen subject.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I love finding contemporary sources, but the nightmare aspect definitely comes in when events and statements are not cited and I have no idea where they've come from. So, I am doing my best to sort through what is verified and what was second/third hand. But I love her story and can't wait to give my interpretations of the evidence left behind.
DeleteI admire your dedication!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sometimes I get lazy and don't write for a couple days. And sometimes I need a break because I feel lost when I can't read the Latin and have to rely on Babel or another translator, but I always keep the end game in mind, that this is for my daughter first and foremost; even if I never sell a single copy, I will have given her the gift of telling the story of the woman she is name for, to the best of my ability and interpretation.
