Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday, now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I am so glad there is any easy one for me to participate in, it has been ages since I have done a TTT.
This week's topic is all about frequently used words in (insert genre/age group) titles. Well, I guess my genre is going to be pretty obvious. With the exception of anything written by Dan Jones, all of these books are still on my to-read list, because my to-read list is over 4,000 books at this point and I just prefer to not think about the fact that I will die before I get to read every book on that list - because let's not even start thinking about all the books that will be published in the future that I will want to read.
Thoroughly depressed now? Great! Here we go!
Anglo-Saxon
Anglo-Saxon
Plantagenet
Tudor
Medieval
King/Queen/Prince/Princess
Rebel
Let me know what you think or if you've read any of these. Then leave a link to your TTT.
Happy Reading!

Wow. I have never seen the word Plantagenet before. I will have to look it up. My TTT
ReplyDeleteThe Plantagenet dynasty ruled England for around 300 years, starting with Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II in 1154 and ending at Bosworth with the death of Richard III. I've got plenty of recommendations if you're interested.
DeleteWith your favourite genre, it's not a surprise to see some repeats. I love all things Tudor.
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd understand :)
DeleteI should have put the numbers of books on my TBR with each of the words - Tudor appears in hundreds of titles.
Ah I like this topic! Lots of good stuff. 4000 books tho? Wow :)
ReplyDelete4421 is the exact number. About six months ago I went through and deleted books that I was no longer interested in and had the list down to about 3500. So, in half a year, I found almost 1000 more to read. OI!
DeleteBlood Royal is on my tbr pile as well...and now Rebels as well
ReplyDeleteOh good, I am always glad to hear when someone adds one of mine!
DeleteNice switch on the theme (most of what I've been seeing have been YA novels)!
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
I read non-fiction nearly exclusively, so I thought mine might be a bit different from most. Thank you!
DeleteThis is a much different list than others on the TTT though. It's kind of ironic that you have the least overused list, with a list of overused words! LOL. My list focused on romance https://sewhitebooks.com/2018/04/frequently-used-words-in-romance-top-ten-tuesday-post/
ReplyDeleteIt is too funny, isn't it? I noticed a lot of YA and fantasy when I was browsing. I am kind of an anomaly, sitting over here surrounded by my precious history books. I am always happy to give recommendations for those wanting them.
DeleteOddly - even though we share a great many interests - I've neither read nor own any of those books!
ReplyDeleteThat is actually very shocking, I thought for sure there would at least be a couple! If you read nothing else from this list, read The Plantagenets by Dan Jones.
DeleteIt was a bit of a surprise - granted! Apart from modern times I think that the Plantagenet-Tudor period has to be by far my favourite bit of British history... and there's a LOT to choose from!
DeleteActually I'll try to shoehorn some into my reading over the next 12-18 months if I can.
That's true, there is a plethora of Tudor material especially. I can't wait to get around to these, as soon as MY book is done!
DeleteWow that is a huge tbr! And I was worried about 900?! I ignored the topic as I knew piles of people would be doing YA, contemporary and romance but I knew I could rely on your list as more interesting! Yes to Tudors and Plans and royal children!
ReplyDeleteI am glad my list could be of interest to you - it was so hard narrowing down to just a couple with each word! I saw heaps and heaps of YA and it was kind of tough because that is so not my thing. I visited those who visited me, as well as making my normal rounds, but I was very minimal in new blogs I checked out, because I was constantly running into the very same genres you mentioned. But on the other hand, I am just glad people are reading, even if we don't share the same taste in books!
