State of the ARC is a monthly feature hosted by Avalinah's Books. I am so glad I stumbled upon it, because it is really helping me with my 2018 Reading Goals (also find a related Top Ten Tuesday HERE). Links go to Goodreads, unless I have finished the review, in which case it goes to that. All ARCs are from NetGalley or Edelweiss, unless otherwise noted.

Yay- looks like a pretty good month :)
ReplyDeleteIt was! I was so afraid that school would completely take over my life to the point I would not get to read for months. Luckily, things are much more under control now and I can rest assured that my reading can get back on track also. Whew!
DeleteLooks like a good month for you, well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Chuckles, I didn't think it would happen - until it did. My first weekend of the school year where I did not have to bring work home with me also was a weekend that Eleanor had to be at her dad's. It was a perfect storm that came together and allowed this to happen!
DeleteGood to see that you have the time to read again! How's the buying side? I'm looking forward to your next 'Stacking the Shelves' for two reasons - I'm always interested in what you buy and I'm a bit worried that the stack of books I put to one side to list here will fall over and hurt someone... [grin]
ReplyDeleteI am so glad also, it physically pains me to not read for an extended period of time! Would you be surprised to learn that I have actually only acquired maybe three books in this whole time??? True story, I swear! But one of the arrivals was Dan Jones and Marina Amaral's new book The Colour of Time and it is brilliant and beautiful and terribly heartbreaking. I am really taking my time with it, the photos that Amaral chose to colorize are absolutely gorgeous.
DeleteA great SotA month for you :-)
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Lewes so got to visit Anne of Cleves house a few times. It's actually pretty tiny!
Way better than I thought it would be! The first weekend I did not have to bring work home with me was the same weekend that Eleanor had to be at her dad's, so I got tons of reviews done. Hopefully now though as I get settled, reviews can be a bit more spaced out and not just a huge info dump in one day!
DeleteLooks like you did quite well. Good luck on getting all those reviews written. Come see my State of the Stack here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy, I was pleasantly surprised with how things turned out for September. I feel so behind on reading, that it is twice as hard to get the reviews done right now.
DeleteYou blog name is awesome lol. I'm new here, but do "pending" and "not started" mean you're on track with your ARCs? If so, THAT IS AMAZING! This looks like a pretty good reading month. It's a shame two of them turned out to be DNFs, but at least the others were alright.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It came about when I was setting up the blog a few years ago. Every cute and witty name I could come up with was already in use so I literally said, "UGH! All the book blog names are taken!" out loud, and thus it was born.
DeleteTo answer your question...YES! I am actually making real progress and am trying very hard to not mender 'round NetGalley while I have these last couple to finish reading, and the last of the reviews to finish up. I have not been this close to daylight in a long time, for this figurative heap of books on my Kindle!
