  1. Interesting different title for the Kirk book.... I think my cover is better though!

A bumper crop of 9 for me. Mostly non-fiction this week but I don't think you'll like most of them. Probably much fewer next week.

    Fiction:

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
    The Stranding by Kate Sawyer

    Non-Fiction:

Story of a Secret State - My Report to the World by Jan Karski
Operation Pedestal - The Fleet That Battled to Malta 1942 by Max Hastings
Brothers in Arms - One Legendary Tank Regiment's Bloody War from D-Day to VE-Day by James Holland
Providence Lost - The Rise & Fall of Cromwell's Protectorate by Paul Lay
The Book of English Magic by Philip Carr-Gomm and Richard Heygate
Fifth Avenue, 5AM - Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany's and the Dawn of the Modern Woman by Sam Wasson
Night Raid - The True Story of the First Victorious British Para Raid of WWII by Taylor Downing

    1. Malibu Rising is so good! Have you read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo? It's not a requirement to read them in any order, but Rising features the kids of one of Evelyn's husbands. It's really good.

I have started Fifth Avenue, 5 AM but when I went back to look at it I saw I DNF-ed it. I can not for the life of me remember why.

    2. Also, to be very honest, I almost did not read Method 15/33 because I hate the cover so much, lol.

    3. Haven't read '7 Husbands'. Not sure if I even own it! '5th Avenue' was a total impulse buy when I saw it recommended by a Booktuber I kinda "follow". I'll twin it with 'Breakfast'. The 'Method' cover you picked up is rather naff. What till you see my version. MUCH better - although not *exactly* plot related.

    4. BTW - Your school shooting comments on my site were stuck in the Blogger spam filter. Sorted now.

    5. I think we've talk about Evelyn before, but I can't remember when. It might've been when I posted about Malibu. When I first saw your comment last week I went back to 5th Avenue to look at it and try to remember why I DNF-ed it. No luck.

The cover here is absolutely trash! Looks like a ridiculous self-published photoshop job. I seriously considered not reading it, lol.

  2. The Girl I Never Knew has an intriguing title!

    1. It's a book I am conflicted about. I like that the author is giving this cold case attention, but it sometimes came across as very obsessive. And the author admits to being obsessed, but it made me uncomfortable at times.

    1. I was pleasantly surprised by that one. I thought it would be more outlandish and salacious, as books like it tend to be. There were some crimes I was familiar with, and others I will definitely be trying to find more info about.

  4. All three of those books have covers that would make me want to open them up and learn more.

    1. True Crimes ended up being he one I liked best, and it was the one I was expecting to like the least, since books like that tend to be light on details and big on salaciousness. But it was not done in a disrespectful way and I am interested to learn about more about some of the crimes covered. I was familiar with a few as well, and facts seemed accurate compared to what I have read previously, so I will probably read the second volume.

    1. I ended up liking that one best. Some really interesting stories I was not familiar with.
